Ableton's Log File

Why would you care about the log file?

If user actions or another part of ClyphX Pro does not work, most of the time Ableton’s log file will relveal details. This file can grow very big. If you ask for support, it is very likely you are asked to send a “fresh” log file.

Where can you find Ableton’s log file?

it is described on Ableton’s website, so this is just copied:

Windows - \Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live x.x.x\Preferences\Log.txt Mac - /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live x.x.x/Log.txt

make a fresh log file

if you encountered an error and you wan’t to make the life of a support agent easier, please:

• quit Live, if running
• go to that directory
• delete Log.txt or
• rename Log.txt to e.g. Log-old.txt or Log-dateandtime.txt if you want to keep it for some reason
• start Live
• produce the error
• close Live
• take that Log file to send it.
